Possibly one of the hardest, and most bizarre languages on the planet - just when you see a possible pattern, it doesn't exist anymore! For a funny essay on the horrors of studying Japanese check out:

STORY WRITING
My Greatest Love of the Moment:
LOL
I am an aspiring novelist, one of the many tragic millions who float around the atmosphere trying to:
a) think of stories
b) complete the damn things
c) (not that I have ever got this far) but tried to get them published!
To all fellow aspirants, fanfic writers, slash genius' etc - Don't give up - I feel your pain, and, if you are doing well... grrrrr (just kidding)
For anyone interested you can read unpublished works at

CHILDRENS BOOKS
YAOI RULES !!!!!!
There is nothing, nothing more tragic than losing touch with the child within.
If you do not, scream, cry, laugh till you wet yourself, have an irrational tantrum or act in a completely childish manner at least once a day - then you need my help!
Even if you are as certifiable as me; here are some handy hints:
Please, DO NOT click on above button if not 18 OR OLDER!!!!!!!!
1. Learn to appreciate sugar highs; they can be your greatest ally in the quest for child-like bliss

2. Scream loudly at least once a week; this is excellent stress therapy and good practice for those necessary tantrums

3. Cry through disney films; you may cry at the sad parts (see Lion King/Fox and the Hound/Bambi/Brother Bear) or, if watching repeatedly, cry in anticipation of the sad parts right from the very beginning

4. And here are my recommended childrens books; to give an voice to the immature, adventure-loving kiddie inside us all:
Tamora Pierce:     Alanna the Lioness
                          Trickster series
                          Immortals series
                          Protector of the Small

Lisa J Smith:       Vampire Diaries
                          NightWorld series

Meg Cabot:         Avalon High
                          Teen Idol

Eoin Colfer:         Artemis Fowl series

Brian Jacques:     Redwall series (especially Martin the Warrior!)

Garth Nix:           Sabriel
                        Lirael
                        Abhorsen

Terry Pratchet:   Anything and Everything you can find!!!

Diana Wynne-Jones: Howl's Moving Castle
                              Chrestomanci series

Other must reads: Swallows and Amazons
                          Secret Garden
                          Goodnight Mister Tom

Will update as I read/remember others :D
